Cone Health System in Greensboro, North Carolina was founded in the 1950s with a large gift from the Cone family. The community has the perception that the health system's founding gift provides for all its current philanthropic needs. Cone has only recently begun to reach out for community support and is Creating its "First Big Campaign" for a new Women's and Infants" Hospital" with an institutional advancement staff of 5 FTEs. There is plenty of community philanthropic competition. Staff has plenty of opportunities/potential challenges.
